Ultrasonic rhinoplasty (The Piezotome)

Why use it

Reduced bruising and swelling

Finer bony work

The main value for me is the accuracy; in certain types of rhinoplasty like these next 2 cases where the remit was specifically to narrow the bony vault (upper part of the nose), the maneuvers to move the bones into position are far more accurate than traditional tools

Finer bony work

Reduced bruising and swelling

Finer bony work

In this case in particular the patient was unable to get glasses to fit as the bones were too wide - the finer tips of the Piezotome are ideal for this type of reduction

Having used the Piezotome for over a decade, i have no doubt in my mind that i see less bruising in the early post operative period when I use the Piezo
