A deviated septum can commonly cause two issues; an external change or asymmetry, and also a functional problem with reduced airflow on one or both sides of the nose
Reduced airflow through the nose might be the only reason to pursue a rhinoplasty; sometimes there aren't any easy to see external signs of a deviation (although this is rare). Its important to work out of the problem is a physical deviation or actually rhinitis which may need a different treatment
Having an accident or some kind of trauma can commonly result in a septal deviation. In these cases the goal may simply to restore the nose to its original shape and function
